March 17 - Tororo

From my journal: Today we got up at 6. I packed my suitcase but then Ariel came and got our laundry so I gave her all my stuff and I’ll repack in the morning. Bro Emmanuel came and picked us up like right at 7. Then we drove to Tororo for service. Sis Barbra (the sister at the house the other girls are at) came with us. Tororo was amazing. I love it here so much! The people are so welcoming! In the morning, Dad preached on The Dynamics of Marriage. At the church, the bathrooms are unfit for human use. I had to go really bad so I told Bro Elijah and he had to take me to the hotel nearby. They had rented a room for a place for Dad to study/rest in the afternoon. So I went and used the washroom in there. It was really weird…. Lol. I love how here, the churches are so relaxed!! Like there was a cat the ran across the ground and noone really cared. I love it!!! In the afternoon, we went to the hotel for lunch. I talked to Bro Emmanuel like all afternoon about what Canada is like and Canadian culture and stuff. Also about the charity he wants to start. He wants to take water to the people on the shores of Lake Victoria and bring Jesus to them. In the evening service, Dad preached on The Power Over Sin and Sickness. After church, we went to Bro Charles’ place and had bananas and coke. Then we drove home. Junia slept, Bro Emmanuel and Sis Barbra reminisced about their engagements (Sis Barbra is Bro Emmanuel’s wife’s sister) and Hannah, Sharon and I sang at the top of our lungs. Lots of fun! I am going to miss Bro Emmanuel!! He is so amazing! When we got home, we found out that everyone was coming over. Except the boys. But the girls and the preachers. I went out and helped Phoebe carry in water. And then I sat around and talked to David. Why can’t guys at home be as nice as the guys here? Or maybe it’s just cuz I am from Canada. Cuz when someone exotic shows up at home, like Ashleigh, all the guys are super nice. Anyways, David eventually left and Phoebe gave me a massage and I fell asleep on her so she sent me to bed. Lol.
