Africa/Europe Trip 2013 : March 14 - Working @ church, Iganda, Fun night

From my journal: Today Hannah and I got up at like 8:30. Junia and Sharon slept at the Ibales last night. After breakfast, we went to the church to work. I nailed almost all day. It was exhausting!! But also fun. It was Hannah, Joe, Oren, Ryan, Elie and I. Ryan and Elie stapled mesh to the ceiling, Hannah and Joe were cutting boards which is what they are using for facia, and Oren and I were nailing the mesh into the boards on the ceiling so that when they put cement into the ceiling, the mesh doesn't fall down.. It was a lot of fun working with the guys. I also took video too. It was a really fun day. For lunch, we went to Sister Florence’s house. Laura, Jazmin and Esther were there all morning making lunch. Hannah and I were so dirty that it took us 2 wipes each to clean off our faces!! I actually ate a lot. Like rice, noodles, and chapatti. I ate pineapple today. It was really good and it didn’t make me sick like the Canadian stuff does. Now I see what Joe was raving about!! After lunch, we all piled into the van and took Joe, Oren and Elie to the church and then the rest of us (except Esther and the adults) went to church in Iganda at bro Emmanuel's church. His wife sang a special and there was a lizard on her shoe. It was kinda funny. We also sang. We sang I Bless Your Name. It was like the best song all week except for Sunday morning. Cuz we didn't have bro Kim with all his weird versions of songs that we don't know.... Afterwards, we sat on the church lawn and ate fruit. Yummy yummy :) I love the fruit here so much!!!! The popo not so much but the rest is amazing!!! The entire way home, I sat with my head out the window. It was very refreshing. When we were almost in Jinja, Bro Fred, Mama Sarah, Phoebe and Hope Ibale picked up Sharon, Hannah and I. That was fun. Cuz then we dropped off Hope and picked up Esther, Beth and Junia and Phoebe, Hannah and Junia went crazy. They started embellishing on the chicken story. It was really funny. Now I am the Chicken Lady and they bug me about chickens and make chicken noises when I walk past. lol. Phoebe is so funny!!! And Junia is so much like Lisa!! That’s how awesome she is!!!! I had a shower tonight. It was SOOOOOOOOOOO cold!!!!!! But that’s fine. We also sat in the back yard and ate jackfruit tonight. And then we tried on the traditional Ugandan dress. I was so exhausted!!!!! But it was my best night so far
